Exhibitor Scam Alerts

The following are possible scams that may be targeting Exhibitors:

  • NEW SCAM ALERT:If you receive a call/email from someone purporting to be the official hotel/accommodation provider, THIS IS A SCAM.We do not employ an agency for accommodations. All accommodations are made directly to the hotel by the exhibitor/attendee. 

  • If you receive an email from “billings@oilsands-tradeshow.com” asking for payment for “cleaning services” – it is a SCAM. Cleaning services for booth space at Oil Sands Conference and Trade Show are included in your Booth Package.

  • If you receive emails or calls from a person or organization trying to sell you data or purport to have the Oil Sands Expo database/attendee list, this is a SCAM. EventWorx (organizers of Oil Sands Expo), do not rent, sell, share, or distribute attendee or exhibitor data in accordance with Canada’s FOIP and CASL laws.

  • If you receive emails or calls asking you to pay for a listing for an event catalogue or guide, this is a SCAM. Listings for Oil Sands Expo are payable at the time of signing the official Oil Sands Expo Exhibitor Contract, and no additional fees or listing fees is required from you.

  • Beware when clicking on any links in these emails. Please note: it is not the responsibility of Oil Sands Expo to reimburse anyone for payments made to any of the above third parties.
